CINAHL

Ebsco Publishing is making available the full-text versions of the CINAHL database (CINAHL with Full Text and CINAHL Plus with Full Text). These two databases provide immediate access to full-text articles from hundreds of journals and other resources. In addition, CINAHL Plus with Full Text also offers an expanded range of indexed content.

CINAHL with Full Text provides indexing for 2,737 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health. The database contains more than 1,000,000 records dating back to 1982 and covering nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/ complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines. In addition, this database offers access to healthcare books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of practice, educational software, audiovisuals and book chapters. PDF backfiles to 1982 are also included.

CINAHL Plus with Full Text includes all of the content provided by CINAHL with Full Text as well as indexing for an additional 287 journals with coverage dating as far back as 1937. PDF backfiles to 1937 are also included.

Both databases also include access to PreCINAHL, which provides current awareness of new journal articles, and includes a rotating file of limited bibliographic information (no subject indexing) that is available to searchers only while these articles are being indexed. Once the bibliographic records are complete, they are added to the CINAHL database and removed from PreCINAHL.
