Ex Libris Group has announced version 9 of its Voyager integrated library system (ILS).

The new version is said to include more than 80 enhancements, many of which were initiated by the Voyager user community and refined through close collaboration between Ex Libris and its user groups, says the company.

Voyager 9 promises enhanced Pick and Scan functionality to update items, holdings, and bibliographic records in bulk; more options to create record sets using Global Data Change (GDC); and the ability to export record sets and MARC records from GDC for use elsewhere. It will enable users to delete record hierarchies using either GDC or Pick and Scan.

In addition, enhancements to manage patron request workflows to improve services to users are promised, as it provides the ability to link to the RDA Toolkit from the Voyager Cataloging module. The latest versions adds new workflows to automatically remove lost fines and fees when items are returned to the library and an updated WebAdmin interface to help librarians manage the system. In addition, technical enhancements promise to improve the stability and performance of the Voyager system in local and hosted environments.
