STAR - Special Terms for Authors and Researchers - is a new online access scheme from Taylor & Francis for individual academic and scientific authors from emerging regions of the world. It provides one month's access to more than 1,000 leading international and regional journals. Coverage spans Arts and Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Biological and Physical Sciences.

STAR's objective is to make top scholarly content more accessible during the authoring process to economically-constrained parts of the world and to support regional contributions to the global knowledge economy.

STAR aims to: enable researchers to enrich findings and update references; hopefully contribute towards higher levels of article acceptance; encourage informed debate in the worldwide academic community; and foster strong research activity and application.

STAR provides access to the full range of Taylor and Francis titles and imprints, complementing existing philanthropic initiatives such as Research4Life which targets specific subject areas.
