Spanish-language website

IOP Publishing has launched its first Spanish-language website to help create better access to its services in Latin America, www.latinoamerica.iop.org.

The site is said to have been launched in response to research by the publisher among scientists, librarians, and students in Latin America about scholarly communications. 'Latin America is an important market for us and we wanted to be sure our customers in this region felt sufficiently represented on the web,' explained Sharice Collins, vice president of marketing at IOP Publishing, Inc.

The site will have information about upcoming scientific meetings in Latin America, the most recent scientific research coming out of the continent, and ways that researchers in Latin America are partnering with IOP.

This is the third own language site launched by IOP Publishing in 2010 and follows the earlier launches of china.iop.org and japan.iop.org.
