SAMS Sigma: identify, enable, grow
At the last Frankfurt Book Fair we announced the launch of our cutting-edge SAMS Sigma IAM product, the latest generation of our industry-leading SAMS access management tool, and the product has since grown from strength-to-strength.
SAMS Sigma takes an innovative approach to solving a critical challenge for publishers: simple, seamless access to content for users outside of an institutional IP range, using best-of-breed single sign-on (SSO) technologies to deliver true cross-domain, cross-device and even cross-publisher SSO. Combined with unique remote access functionality, which links individuals to their institutional holdings, end users can access everything their institution has purchased, anytime, anywhere.
The second key differentiator for SAMS Sigma is our flexible licensing tool, which puts publishers in control:
- What content is accessed, whether that’s at the level of the book or journal, down at the individual DOI, or even based on proprietary identifiers such as taxonomy tags
- How content is packaged – everything from traditional subscriptions to metered sales and freemium models are supported.
Semantico’s Director of Product Development, Tasha Mellins-Cohen, said: ‘SAMS Sigma builds on 13 years of continuous innovation in SAMS to deliver the next generation in identity and access management. It has added significant commercial value to our customers’ businesses and enables frictionless access to content for researchers. When installed in conjunction with Scolaris, our integrated content delivery platform, we have an unbeatable technology stack, especially when combined with our world-beating UX team.’
