A new version of the searchable, full-text, patent family database, PatBase, from Minesoft and RWS Group, is said to use larger, bold fonts. It also has additional short-cuts to provide the user with quick and easy access to saved items such as search histories or alerts.

New search options include a 'Search Optimiser' tool to immediately refine a results set and a 'Hit Analyser' tool that displays the frequency of keywords per publication. A highlighting tool also supports truncation and proximity operators in keywords.

Users can search in Korean and Thai languages and have access to a searchable Examples field, useful for chemical patents. A graphical 'Citation Tree' display also illustrates citation relationships.
