Research dating back to 1849 is now available online in the Oxford Journals Digital Archive. The collection is said to provide access to all content for nearly 140 journals and comprise over three million article pages.

Oxford Journals, a division of Oxford University Press, says that the digital archive also offers powerful search tools, cross-linking to similar articles, and a host of additional online material.

The complete archive includes all the journals in the five subject-based collections (with no duplication of content): the Humanities Archive, the Law Archive, the Social Science Archive, the Medicine Archive and the Science Archive.
