The Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) and Wiley-Blackwell have announced that the Journal of Hospital Medicine has been selected for impact factor tracking by Thomson’s Institute of Scientific Information (ISI) services after just two years of publication.

The mission of the Journal of Hospital Medicine is to promote excellence in hospital medicine as a defined specialty through the dissemination of research, evidence-based clinical care, and advocacy of safe, effective care for hospitalised patients.

‘After having been accepted for indexing by MEDLINE after just one year of publication, we are extremely pleased that the journal has now been accepted for coverage by ISI. This new milestone further demonstrates the importance of hospital medicine and also acknowledges the high quality of the articles published in the Journal of Hospital Medicine,’ said Mark Williams, editor-in-chief of the journal.
