EMBO is launching EMBO Press, a new publishing platform on the HighWire Open Platform. This will be the new home for The EMBO Journal, EMBO Reports, Molecular Systems Biology and EMBO Molecular Medicine and promises to provide opportunities for the future development of the journals.

EMBO Press says that it will strengthen the policies of the EMBO journals to encourage transparency in the publication process and help researchers make better use of scientific data. In addition, all four journals are being redesigned to maximise online functionality and access.

The announcement coincides with a new partnership with HighWire and an expanded publishing agreement with Wiley that come into immediate effect. Wiley has published EMBO Molecular Medicine since 2009.
