BioMed Central and the University of Michigan are to publish a new open access journal, Clinical Diabetes and Endocrinology, which is now open for submissions and will begin publishing in the first quarter of 2015.

The journal is led by editor-in-chief, Meng H. Tan, professor of internal medicine, in the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology, and Diabetes, at the University of Michigan, with support from associate editors and an international editorial board.

Clinical Diabetes and Endocrinology includes clinical, translational, healthcare, and epidemiological research surrounding diabetes and endocrine diseases. It will promote better care for patients by sharing with the community new knowledge, both research and clinical, on various aspects of endocrine disorders and their management.

The intended audience for the new journal includes physicians, researchers, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, podiatrists, psychologists, epidemiologists, exercise physiologists, and health care researchers.
