The internet search engine for consumer healthcare, Healthline, has expanded its health information content base through partnerships with medical reference publishers such as A.D.A.M., Thomson Gale, ProQuest and Cerner Multum.

Healthline delivers open web results together with doctor-reviewed articles, journals, encyclopaedias and illustrations. Content from these publishers and others is integrated via its proprietary medical taxonomy system and combined with advanced semantic search capabilities.

Healthline's Medically Guided Search technology is said to combine a one-million word taxonomy system developed by more than 1,100 physicians and medical experts with advanced search of the HealthWeb – more than 170,000 health-related sites selected for their content relevancy.
