Walter de Gruyter preserves e-books with Portico

Walter de Gruyter is preserving its entire electronic book collection of approximately 1,200 titles with Portico.
The publisher already participates in Portico on behalf of 61 titles from its e-journals collection. This new move ensures that the online version of its digital books will be preserved and available for future scholars, researchers and students. As part of the agreement, Walter de Gruyter will make an annual financial contribution to Portico to support its e-book preservation activities and has named Portico as a mechanism to fill post-cancellation access claims for the titles.
With the inclusion of Walter de Gruyter's e-books, approximately 8,840 e-journals and 6,480 e-books have now been entrusted to the Portico archive.
