The Tilburg University Library, in the Netherlands, has selected OCLC's Web-scale Management Services (WMS) and WorldCat Local as its new library management solution and integrated discovery-to-delivery service. The Tilburg University Library plans to become operational with WMS, the Web-based cooperative library management services, by June 2012.

OCLC Web-scale Management Services is already in production in 15 libraries. 'It was important to us that with WMS, OCLC has shown us a working product with a good interface, excellent possibilities and a lot of potential,' commented Marc van den Berg, director, Library and IT Services of Tilburg University.

'We think that working in the cloud and sharing data is the way forward for many university and higher education libraries to achieve efficiencies, lower operating costs and free up staff for unique local services and innovation,' said Eric van Lubeek, OCLC EMEA managing director.
