Thomson Reuters acquires Brazilian legal publisher

Thomson Reuters has acquired the Brazilian legal publisher, Revista dos Tribunais.  The acquisition is said to present a strategic opportunity for Thomson Reuters to lead the move to advanced information, software and online services for the Brazilian legal information industry. Today, this sector is still dominated by print resources.

Revista dos Tribunais has nearly 300 staff members throughout the country and 43 branches that will join Thomson Reuters. Its catalogue lists more than 2,000 published titles for judges, lawyers, notaries, and any professional or institution consulting on legal matters.

Antonio Belinelo, who will remain as general manager of Revista dos Tribunais at Thomson Reuters, commented: 'We are excited to join Thomson Reuters, and to build our business in alignment with the growing Brazilian legal information market.'
