Subscription agent Swets has chosen Eduard Cohen to be its new chief executive officer. Cohen has held several board-level marketing and sales positions in the publishing and pharmaceutical industry, including the role of managing director of Elsevier's Science and Technology Division. Cohen replaces Arie Jongejan, who retired recently.

'Eduard has a thorough knowledge of the information industry and the needs of its customers and publishers,' commented Caf van Kempen, chairman of the supervisory board of Swets. 'The supervisory and executive boards are certain that Eduard’s experience and expertise will help drive the Swets organisation to further success in the future.'

In addition to his new role as CEO, Cohen will also take on the role of chief financial officer in the short term. This is because Swets' current CFO, Siebe van Elsloo, is leaving the company to start a new job in the music industry in July.
