Swets buys Dutch book seller
Subscription services company Swets has bought Boekhandel E. Frencken, a Netherlands-based book and journal seller.
'We are delighted to add Frencken’s business to our overall portfolio as it will help consolidate our position within our home market and allow us to utilise an existing infrastructure to sell books in the Netherlands,' said Swets’ CEO, Arie Jongejan.
The business name Boekhandel E. Frencken B.V. is changing to Frencken Information Services B.V. but the company will continue to be based in Eindhoven with the 28 full-time staff currently employed.
'It’s important that our existing customers realise that, although ownership of the company has changed hands, business will operate as usual for them,' said Eugène Frencken, director of Boekhandel E. Frencken. 'I’m confident that our customers will be excited about the integration of our services into Swets’ multinational subscription business and what opportunities this can offer them.
