Springer to acquire Spektrum Akademischer Verlag

Springer Science+Business Media (Springer) will buy Spektrum Akademischer Verlag from Elsevier. Spektrum Akademischer Verlag (SAV) specialises in mainly German-language scientific publications. It was founded in 1991 and acquired by Elsevier from Verlagsgruppe Georg von Holtzbrinck in 2003.

The publishing programme includes 700 books and three journals in areas such as life sciences, geosciences, chemistry, mathematics and psychology.
