SAGE Publishing and Bibliosan sign new open access agreement
SAGE and the Italian consortium of Biomedical Research Libraries, Bibliosan, have announced a new open access agreement. The deal will provide online access for Bibliosan’s network, which includes 68 research institutions, to SAGE’s full journal collection of 114 fully open access and 240 hybrid peer-reviewed journals.
Under the agreement, which has been valid from 1 January 2022, researchers at participating institutions will be able to publish their research open access in all hybrid journals and will receive a discount on article publishing charges for SAGE’s 150+ pure gold open access journals. The deal will be SAGE’s first open access deal in Italy, continuing its mission of creating world-class academic resources and unlocking new publishing opportunities for the Bibliosan consortium.
“We are proud to reach this agreement with Bibliosan and to further support sustainable open research,” said David Ross, Vice President, Open Research at SAGE Publishing. “This agreement will enable the development and dissemination of vital research within the biomedical field.”
Moreno Curti, MD, Bibliosan Coordinator, said: ‘It is the first year that Bibliosan has signed an open access agreement with SAGE. This is an important step towards making the results of publicly funded research available, making it easier for researchers of Bibliosan members, the Italian Scientific Research and Care Institutes, to publish their research in open access journals, both hybrid and gold.”
