Publishers and librarians – we want your views!

Readers of Research Information – both librarians and publishers/vendors – are being encouraged to take part in a survey to help us shape our content and other products.

'We are aiming to introduce direct contact with representative groups of our readers,' said editor Tim Gillett. 'We'd like to engage in conversation with them throughout the year to check that we're covering the right sort of issues in Research Information, while also looking to see if there are other services we can offer to librarians, publishers and other groups within our readership.'

The survey, which should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete, also allows readers to join a 'reader panel' and partake in a short interview with the Research Information team to elaborate on their views of the industry. Anything discussed will be entirely confidential.

We will be conducting another survey later this year, specifically for researchers and academic authors, later this year.

'This isn't another mass survey leading to a report,' says Warren Clark, managing director of Europa Science, publisher of Research Information. 'It's about giving readers an ongoing platform to tell us about the ever-changing environment in which they work. It's important to us that Research Information provides the right sort of content and covers the issues that those in the scholarly community want to see.'
