US-based electronic archiving organisation, Portico, has sealed a deal with the University of Technology Sydney Library, Australia, to preserve its online collection of 11 electronic journals.

Through this agreement, UTS Library ensures that the online versions of its journals will be preserved and available for future scholars, researchers and students.

The library has also named Portico as a mechanism to fill post-cancellation access claims and has agreed to make an annual financial contribution to the organisation.

With the inclusion of UTS Library's e-journals, over 10 000 e-journals and 27 000 e-books from 77 publishers on behalf of 2000 societies and associations have now been entrusted to the Portico archive.
