Ohio Christian University selects Millennium
The Maxwell Library at Ohio Christian University (OCU) has selected the Millennium integrated library management system. It will participate through OhioLINK, a consortium that provides access to over 46 million items to the state's students and faculty. OhioLINK is powered by Innovative’s INN-Reach direct consortial borrowing system.
Library director David Tipton said: ‘Because we are adding new curricula and students, we're in the process of making a gigantic step into the future in library services and technology. Since 2001, we've doubled our collection and gone from a few hundred circs a month to a peak of over 2,000. Our reference desk has also been more active and on track to reach our goal of 6,000 interactions this year.
Increased resource sharing with the OhioLINK will be another response to campus growth. Tipton said: ‘OhioLINK will be a whole new world for our users. It will bring millions of items available to our students. At present standard interlibrary loan can costs us up to ten dollars a transaction. Turnaround time for books is going to be a lot faster and cost-per-use will be less expensive because of INN-Reach.’
