New virtual directory for NIH

Collexis recently announced that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has selected the company to develop a virtual knowledge directory. The system will allow more than 8,000 NIH researchers to connect and share their expertise via a web interface. The agreement is an expansion of Collexis' existing relationship with NIH - under an earlier enterprise licence agreement.

In a two-phase solution tailored specifically to the NIH community's needs, Collexis will compile expert profiles that will then be integrated with Medline, the National Library of Medicine's bibliographic database. The customised directory will provide researchers with immediate access to expert knowledge; a quick means of locating NIH experts most relevant to the issue at hand; and complete profiles of experts.
