Overleaf, (previously WriteLaTeX), the collaborative authoring and publishing tool for scientific research, has appointed Mary Anne Baynes as head of sales and marketing.

Baynes has more than 20 years' experience in international sales, marketing and program development for various technology-based companies, both large and small – most recently in the STM, institutional, and association publishing industries.

She was recently invited to become the co-chair of the Society for Scholarly Publishing Education Committee, to help guide the direction for its educational seminars and webinars.

'This is an exciting opportunity and I’m honoured to join Overleaf and their forward-thinking team', said Baynes. 'Overleaf provides powerful technology and it’s an ambitious time of growth for the company with wide interest from universities and the publishing community. I look forward to working on their continued development and expansion into the scientific and scholarly publishing markets.'
