The National Archives has awarded a five-year concessionary contract to TSO (The Stationery Office), part of the Williams Lea Group, to publish the London, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazettes online and in print. The new contract takes effect on 1 January 2013.

The London, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazettes are the official journals of record of government.  They contain statutory information, notices and advertisements setting out the business of government and putting it permanently on the public record.

Carol Tullo, director of information policy at The National Archives, said: 'The Gazettes offer a unique source of data about the business of government and the public sector. Securing this important resource so that it can be reused and remains permanently available to users is what differentiates official publishing. This new contract understands the ways customers and government use this rich seam of data in an online world and we are excited about the potential to shape the new services'.
