Knovel enters into agreement with JISC Collections

US virtual library provider Knovel has entered into a three-year agreement with UK-based online content supplier, JISC Collections, to make science and technology resources available to university and college libraries across the UK.

JISC member institutions will now be able to access the Knovel online collection of science and technology references. These contain content, search and interactive tools for specific engineering disciplines. Typical content includes material properties, process and design information, best practices, equations and formulae.

According to Liam Earney, collections team manager at JISC Collections: “We can now… offer universities and colleges access to a selection of science and technology e-books, which deliver on functionality and content, specific to users’ needs. For example content can be incorporated within teaching materials, and extracts from these resources can also be used in student assignments and research projects.”
