King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia has selected the Millennium ILS from Innovative Interfaces to support its library. This new institution is scheduled to open in September 2009. Innovative already has customers in United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Egypt but this is its first customer in Saudi Arabia.

‘We chose Millennium as the backbone of a new library that will house a large collection and incorporate all of the latest technologies,’ said KAUST library director Adnan Alsharif. ‘The library will occupy a central place on the KAUST campus and is designed as a gateway to research information and ideas. We found Innovative to be a reliable partner in the Middle East and Arabian Peninsula. We believe they are a very good choice to help us realise our vision of a high-tech library at a first-rate centre for technological and scientific research.’
