The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) has selected ScholarOne Manuscripts as a peer-review workflow management system for its 64 journals.

JST selected two preferred systems when it upgraded its internal system Japanese Science and Technology Information Aggregator, Electronic (J-STAGE) from J-STAGE2, a proprietary system, to J-STAGE3. According to Thomson Reuters, ScholarOne Manuscripts was selected as a customised sub-system for integration to J-STAGE3 because of its easy-to-use interface and its familiarity among Japanese researchers, who are currently using it for their submissions to other leading journals worldwide.

‘In order to continue to develop Japanese science and technology that is consistent with the international standard, it is important for any excellent research and development results to be speedily distributed to the rest of the world,’ said Yoshiyuki Miyagawa,  manager, Electronic Journals Division, Department of Advanced Databases, Innovation Headquarters, JST.  ‘We expect the collaboration with ScholarOne Manuscripts to improve convenience and efficiency for Japanese researchers when they do online submission for J-STAGE3 journals.’
