GeoScienceWorld picks HighWire for e-books platform

GeoScienceWorld (GSW) and HighWire Press are expanding on their existing journals partnership with the announcement of a new integrated e-books platform that will be built on the HighWire Open Platform.

The GSW eBooks Collections promises to be the first nonprofit, multi-publisher e-books platform devoted to the study of the earth sciences. It will include more than 1,000 scholarly titles at launch with library-preferred purchasing and access models. It will include mobile access, faceted and map-based searching, metadata-driven content recommendations, and social sharing tools. Library trials will be available in January with public product release planned for May 2014.
