The European Library board elects Lynne Brindley as chair

Lynne Brindley, chief executive of The British Library, has become the new chair of The European Library Management Board. She was elected to this position during the sixth meeting of The European Library Management Board, held at the National Library of the Netherlands in The Hague on 19 March.

The chair became vacant following the departure of Fernanda Campos from the National Library of Portugal. Tiiu Valm, director general of the National Library of Estonia was appointed as vice-chair.

The European Library website recorded 30 per cent more new visitors in March 2007 than in February. The top three countries for visitors to The European Library in March were France, Poland and USA.
