EEFOCUS portal brings IET resources to China
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is partnering with the Chinese engineering portal EEFOCUS to make the IET's engineering intelligence available to over one million researchers in China.
The agreement gives EEFOCIS members access to up to 30 IET Inspec abstracts per month. Access will also be given to up to 10 IET journal articles from the IET Digital Library, translated into Mandarin, from journals such as Wireless Sensor Systems, Radar, Sonar & Navigation and Computers & Digital Technologies.
IET says that the move is part of its mission to make engineering content available to as wide a global audience as possible.
EEFOCUS has over one million registered users and acts as an information portal for the electrical engineering community in China. It provides a reference link to relevant books, journals and other materials and provides a forum where users can discuss industry topics. The partnership with the IET brings academic research to its offering.
Gongyu Su, general manager at EEFOCUS, said: 'As China strives to be a leader in technological innovation, access to this kind of knowledge will be vital. We also hope that, having seen how pioneering this content is, our users will look closer at the IET and make greater use of its services. This is an important partnership for us which will benefit our subscribers and ultimately China’s engineering community as a whole.'
