The final deadline for Elsevier Foundation grant proposals is September 15, 2008. Grant proposals will be accepted in two categories: the Innovative Libraries Programme and the New Scholars Programme. The Elsevier Foundation will award grants in December 2008 with a series of one, two and three year grants awarded between US$5,000 to US$50,000 per year.

'The Elsevier Foundation aims to improve the quality of life for people throughout the world by supporting the advancement of, and access to, scientific, technical and medical knowledge,' said David Ruth, executive director of the Elsevier Foundation. 'Our grant winners are recognised for their efforts enabling talented individuals from diverse backgrounds to develop successful careers, maximising the benefit to science and society.'
