Brill has now acquired all shares of Amsterdam-based Editions Rodopi.

The acquisition is said to include 'highly esteemed book series and journals in history, philosophy, theology, social sciences, linguistics, literature, and cultural studies'. In total, the publishing list comprises of 3,000 book titles, growing by 130 new titles each year. These titles are mainly in the English language, but some are in French, German and Spanish.

Brill’s CEO Herman Pabbruwe said: 'We are quite happy with this agreement. We are delighted to welcome all authors, customers and personnel from Editions Rodopi and we trust that we will be able to continue serving them like they have been used to at Editions Rodopi. In the coming months we will align both operations in such a way as not to interfere with the day-to-day business.'

Brill says that, until further notice, ordering and customer service of Editions Rodopi will continue as usual.
