Alexander Street Press has acquired Insight Media, which distributes video to the higher education market in more than 90 countries.
Insight Media has become known for its comprehensive dance collection, its nursing and allied health training programmes, and for titles such as American Tongues, Quiet Rage, and Understanding Pina: The Legacy of Pina Bausch.
The acquisition brings at least 10,000 new streaming titles to the Alexander Street video platform and together Alexander Street and Insight Media are said to hold distribution rights for nearly 50,000 top-quality titles in the higher education market.
'Insight has been the largest and best distributor of Alexander Street’s titles in the past few years. We’re all very excited here at the opportunities this opens up,' said Stephen Rhind-Tutt, president of Alexander Street Press.
The Insight team - Jeff Morris, Janet Olshansky, and Elana Joffe - will remain at Insight following the acquisition and will continue to operate from New York City.
