Wiley joins US Department of Energy’s Genesis Mission Consortium
Wiley has joined the Genesis Mission Consortium, a public-private partnership supporting the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Genesis Mission, becoming the only scientific publisher among a group of members that includes Nvidia, AWS, Microsoft, IBM and AMD.
The publisher has also been invited to demonstrate its work at the Genesis Mission Annual Summit in Washington, D.C.
The Genesis Mission is a DOE initiative to build the American Science and Security Platform, an AI-driven research infrastructure designed to accelerate scientific discovery and apply artificial intelligence to major scientific and technological challenges.
As part of the consortium, Wiley plans to make its research intelligence tools available to researchers across the DOE’s national laboratories. The company will also provide DOE leaders and industry partners with an early look at potential applications for its AI-enabled research capabilities.
Wiley said its contribution will combine its editorial networks and scientific expertise with evidence-linked, peer-reviewed content intended to support provenance and reproducibility. The company will also provide operational support to help integrate these capabilities into laboratory environments.

The company described its participation in the Genesis Mission Consortium as the latest in a series of AI-focused collaborations, following partnerships with OpenEvidence, IQVIA, Microsoft, Anthropic and AWS aimed at integrating trusted, peer-reviewed content into AI platforms serving medicine, life sciences and research.

Wiley said members of its AI & Data Analytics team will participate in Genesis Mission working groups covering areas including AI model validation against scientific evidence and scientific data management. The publisher also intends to contribute to the consortium’s proposed foundational knowledge layer, extending its role in providing scientific content and data to support AI applications within the DOE’s federal research infrastructure.
