eContent Pro International Press has launched claiming to be “the first U.S.-based book publisher to operate exclusively under a platinum open access publishing model”.

The publisher says it is “committed to equity, transparency, and author empowerment, eliminating barriers to knowledge dissemination by making high-quality academic and professional books freely available to researchers and practitioners around the world to read, share, and build upon. Every book is published under a platinum open access model, meaning it is freely available to readers everywhere without any paywall or other restrictions. Copyright remains with the authors and editors, and the open access processing charges that offset the publication costs are funded by individuals, sponsoring institutions, grants, and so on.”

Courtney Mengel, Communications Coordinator at eContent Pro International Press, said: “Our mission is to reimagine book publishing for the digital age, one that prioritises accessibility, equity, and author ownership. By eliminating paywalls and allowing authors to retain full copyright, we’re helping scholars and professionals broaden their reach and deepen their impact.”

eContent Pro International Press says it is committed to offering some of the lowest Book Processing Charges (BPCs) in the industry, “making open access publishing more affordable and attainable to a broader range of voices to be heard, regardless of budget or geography”.

The press welcomes authored and edited scholarly research books and professional/practitioner-oriented books, including monographs, professional manuals, how-to guides, research handbooks, encyclopedias, and more. It is actively seeking proposals from scholars, educators, and professionals across all fields. Prospective authors and editors are encouraged to learn more or submit proposals at https://www.ecppress.com/
