River Valley launches Zintzo to streamline research integrity checks

River Valley Technologies has launched Zintzo Research Integrity, a new platform designed to help editorial teams identify and triage potential research integrity risks in submitted manuscripts.
At the centre of the platform is a Risk Triage Dashboard, which brings multiple research integrity signals together into a single colour-coded assessment.
The dashboard is designed to give editorial and research integrity teams an immediate indication of whether a manuscript can proceed, requires closer review or should be escalated for further investigation.
According to River Valley Technologies, Zintzo distinguishes between stronger standalone indicators of potential problems and lighter supporting signals. By assessing these signals together, the platform aims to help editorial teams concentrate their attention on submissions presenting the greatest potential risk.
The company stressed that the assessment is intended to support rather than replace editorial judgement. Editors can examine the evidence underlying individual alerts and apply an editorial override where appropriate, with decisions recorded to provide an audit trail.
The system can also be configured at publisher, journal and workflow level, allowing risk assessment parameters to reflect individual journals’ policies, subject areas and risk profiles.
Maryam Bazargan, CEO of River Valley Technologies, said: “Editorial teams need clear, evidence-based context that helps them triage quickly, not more disconnected alerts.
“Some signals are minor on their own, but become meaningful alongside other indicators. Zintzo helps editorial teams see such patterns quickly, while allowing them to review the evidence and apply their own judgement.
“Research integrity decisions must remain transparent and adaptable. That is why Zintzo includes evidence review, editorial override, audit trail and reporting, so publishers can adapt checks as their needs evolve.”
