ResearchGate and Taylor & Francis expand partnership
ResearchGate and Taylor & Francis have announced a further expansion of their Journal Home partnership to include journals from the recently acquired open access publisher Peer J, as well as an additional portfolio of forward-thinking biomedical journals.
In total, a further 18 journals will now be added to the 400+ titles Taylor & Francis already have in Journal Home. 16 journals, including BioTechniques and Future Oncology, joined Taylor & Francis in December 2023 and form part of the Expert Medicine collection. PeerJ, which joined Taylor & Francis in March 2024, also sees two of its pioneering broad-scope titles, PeerJ Life & Environment, and PeerJ Computer Science, now available on ResearchGate through Journal Home.
This further expansion for Taylor & Francis acknowledges the impact of unique journal discoverability through Journal Home on readership and authorship. Each participating journal receives full-text article syndication to ResearchGate, with prominent journal branding on article pages, boosting readership with ResearchGate’s 25 million researcher members. Dedicated journal profiles, which feature information about the journal and how an individual member is connected to a journal through their network, help researchers discover and explore titles, boosting engagement. Journal Home also enables journal teams to understand how readers are engaging with journal content, building insights on how readers become aware of journals, and in turn become potential authors.
Meanwhile, authors continue to benefit from the partnership, with articles automatically added to their user profiles on ResearchGate on publication, and with platform insights on who is reading and citing their work, delivering an effective way to engage with readers.
“Our expanded relationship with Taylor & Francis to include these recently acquired journals acknowledges how important a truly researcher-centric strategy has become for our publisher partners,” said Sören Hofmayer, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at ResearchGate. “Taylor & Francis have found that ResearchGate can deliver new audiences for their journals, along with greater engagement, exploring how readers grow in their awareness, and how engagement can influence becoming an author. We’re thrilled to continue working with Taylor & Francis to deliver these insights across the portfolio.”
“Our ResearchGate partnership is delivering greater brand profile and discoverability with readers and authors globally,” said Leon Heward-Mills, Managing Director of Researcher Services at Taylor & Francis. “We’re pleased to be adding these new titles to Journal Home, supporting even more of our authors and journals with greater visibility and discoverability.”
