MDPI relaunches JAMS submission platform for independent publishers

Open access publisher MDPI has relaunched a submission platform specifically designed to support small-scale, independent publishers. The Journal and Article Management System, JAMS, offers flexible pricing and new editorial services aimed at improving accessibility.
The platform’s new Editorial Guidance service offers consulting to help journals “achieve indexing, expand readership, and enhance their impact”. Its scalable pricing model has been designed to benefit publishers in the Global South, non-profits, and smaller organisations, improving access to journal management and engaging researchers from diverse communities.
“JAMS combines robust functionality with expert support to simplify and enhance every stage of the publishing process,” said Silvano Bonfatti, Product Manager for MDPI’s JAMS. “Our latest updates, including flexible pricing and expanded services, demonstrate our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of publishers and helping them achieve their objectives of quality, growth, and impact.”
Francesca Minerva, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Controversial Ideas, described JAMS as an “an editorially-independent, user-friendly platform that aligned perfectly with the journal’s vision,” enabling the journal “to maintain rigorous academic standards while reaching a global audience and fostering impactful academic discourse.”
