AIP Publishing has announced a three-year AIP Fusion agreement with Seoul National University (SNU), marking the first partnership of its kind in Asia.

AIP Fusion is AIP Publishing’s institutional read-and-publish open access agreement model for the physical sciences. The deal supports SNU’s ambition to expand the global reach and impact of its research through open access publishing, while also providing institution-wide read access to AIP Publishing’s portfolio of physical science journals.

Seoul National University, widely regarded as South Korea’s leading public research institution, plays a central role in the country’s academic and scientific development. Under the agreement, corresponding authors affiliated with SNU will be able to publish open access in AIP Publishing titles and partner journals, enabling wider dissemination of their work across the global scientific community.

“AIP Fusion offers a practical and sustainable way for our researchers to share their work with the global physical sciences community and increase its international impact,” said Seoul National University Library. “By supporting open access publishing at the institutional level, this agreement helps ensure that research from Seoul National University can contribute more fully to addressing global scientific challenges.”

AIP Fusion is AIP Publishing’s institutional open access model, designed to align with library priorities while supporting researchers throughout the publication process. Alongside open access publishing, the agreement also grants SNU researchers full read access to AIP Publishing’s journal collection.

“This agreement reflects AIP Publishing’s commitment to working with leading research institutions worldwide to support open science in ways that are both scalable and responsive to local needs,” said Kevin Steiner, Global Head of Sales at AIP Publishing. “We are pleased to welcome Seoul National University as our first AIP Fusion partner in Asia.”
