ResearchGate and Cambridge University Press have announced a significant expansion of their Journal Home partnership, following what the organisations describe as a successful first year of collaboration.

The broadened agreement increases coverage to 29 journals across a range of subject areas, and includes hybrid journals for the first time. It also introduces ResearchGate’s new Community Engagement Upgrade (CEU) into the partnership.

Journal Home is designed to support Cambridge University Press’s objective of increasing high-quality authorship and readership across its portfolio, while improving visibility and strengthening connections between editors, authors and research communities. The expanded programme spans journals in medicine, psychiatry, engineering and mathematics.

Through Journal Home, participating Cambridge University Press journals will gain increased access to ResearchGate’s global network of more than 25 million researchers, aimed at supporting both new and returning authorship. The programme also provides automatic article uploads, tools for reader interaction, and engagement metrics to help authors understand the reach of their work. In addition, journals will benefit from expanded profiles and upgraded branding across the platform.

The introduction of the Community Engagement Upgrade is intended to further support journal teams in building stronger relationships with their audiences.

The CEU includes enhanced audience insights, offering demographic data on readers, citations, recommendations and followers. It also enables targeted content promotion, allowing journals to highlight key articles to relevant audiences on ResearchGate. Additional tools such as Editor Picks and Journal Stats are designed to help editors better understand and grow their communities.

“Expanding our Journal Home partnership naturally supports our mission to spread knowledge and support research that advances learning worldwide,” said Andrew Sykes, Journals Marketing and Operations Director, Cambridge University Press. “With the added Community Engagement Upgrade we can further support our editors, deepen engagement with our journals, strengthen the delivery of trusted research, and uphold our commitment to excellence, accessibility, and lasting academic impact.”

“We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with Cambridge University Press and bring more of their diverse and high-quality journals to our global researcher community,” said Robyn Mugridge, Head of Partnership Development, ResearchGate. “With the addition of the Community Engagement Upgrade, Cambridge University Press’s editors will now benefit from powerful tools to grow engagement for their journals, enabling strategic journal development and community connection worldwide.”
