AIP Publishing signs three-year agreement with Irish Research eLibrary

AIP Publishing has signed a new three-year agreement with the Irish Research eLibrary (IReL), a nationally funded consortium that provides access to licensed e-resources, open access publishing agreements, and open science infrastructure.
The “AIP Fusion” agreement covers eight Irish institutions and expands access to AIP Publishing’s portfolio of physical sciences research while supporting a sustainable, transparent transition to open access publishing.
Under the terms of the agreement, researchers affiliated with participating IReL institutions will benefit from streamlined publishing workflows and enhanced opportunities to publish open access across all AIP Publishing and partner journals as part of the AIP Fusion model.
“AIP Fusion is designed to meet the needs of research communities by combining broad access to essential content with a clear and scalable path to open access,” said Kevin Steiner, Global Head of Sales at AIP Publishing. “This agreement with IReL reflects our shared commitment to supporting researchers and advancing open, equitable research communication.”
IReL’s mission is to provide sustainable and inclusive access to scholarly communications in support of Irish research. Its new agreement with AIPP aligns with this, allowing its members access to trusted quality publication and supporting its authors to publish their research openly.
“We welcome AIP Fusion as a novel, sustainable, and equitable path to OA,” said Susan Reilly, IReL Director. “And it meets our licensing principles, including cost control, transparent business models, and committing to open research.”
AIP Fusion agreements are part of AIP Publishing’s stated effort to collaborate with institutions and consortia worldwide to expand access, reduce administrative burden for authors, and accelerate the global transition to open science.
