IGI Global launches read and publish licensing model

IGI Global Scientific Publishing has announced the launch of a new Read & Publish licensing model combining access to its e-Book collection with unlimited open access publishing.
Under the agreement, libraries license the IGI Global Scientific Publishing e-Book Collection, which includes more than 10,000 scholarly e-Books and over 200,000 peer-reviewed chapters, while enabling affiliated authors to publish open access in nearly 200 journals at no personal cost.
The publisher says the model offers unlimited simultaneous user access, no digital rights management, and an advanced search platform, with AI-powered research tools planned. It is designed to support cross-disciplinary research across business and management, science, technology and medicine, and education and social sciences.
Publishing costs are covered through a single flat-rate fee paid by the institution, removing individual article processing charges.
“With a Read & Publish license, libraries provide access to more than 10,000 scholarly research books while removing financial barriers to open access publishing for their faculty and researchers,” said Nick Newcomer, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at IGI Global Scientific Publishing.
