Oxford University Press acquires Nelson Thornes
Oxford University Press (OUP) has acquired the educational publisher Nelson Thornes from Infinitas Learning.
Nelson Thornes covers a broad range of subject areas with its primary, secondary, and vocational teaching resources. Its titles are expected to complement OUP’s existing educational publishing for the UK and international markets.
The company will initially operate as a stand-alone subsidiary of OUP, maintaining its existing branding, Cheltenham office, organisation structure, and current staff. Richard Hodson, who was international business director for OUP’s UK schools and children’s division, will be the new managing director of Nelson Thornes, replacing Paul Howarth who is moving to a new role within Infinitas Learning.
