Libraries can apply for share of $300,000 solar grant

Libraries are being encourage to apply for a share in a $300,000 grant scheme aimed at making them more sustainable through the use of solar power.
Submissions are now open for the 2025 EBSCO Solar grant program from EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO). For the tenth year in a row, EBSCO is accepting applications for grants that will fund solar installations at libraries around the world. As part of the 2025 initiative there will be a total of $300,000 in grants available.
The EBSCO Solar grant is designed to help libraries offset their expenses by adopting solar power, showcasing the benefits of sustainability within their communities. Since its inception in 2016, EBSCO has awarded more than three million dollars through the EBSCO Solar grant program.
Over the past decade, academic, medical and corporate libraries have used the grant to offset the cost of solar panel installations, produce solar flower gardens and create entirely green infrastructures. Biblioteca Daniel Cosío Villegas, Mexico; Royal Oak Public Library, Michigan; Williamsville Public Library, Illinois; Carnegie Public Library, Arkansas; and The University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine Library, Texas, each received an EBSCO Solar Grant in 2024.
