Emerald and PRME partner to launch journals on responsible management

Emerald Publishing has announced a strategic collaboration with the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact, to launch two new co-branded academic journals focused on responsible management education and research.
The partnership aims to strengthen both organisations’ shared commitment to embedding ethics, sustainability and social responsibility within business and management education worldwide. PRME is an international network that engages more than 850 Signatory institutions across 96 countries, supported by 17 regional Chapters. Its mission is to integrate the values of sustainability and responsible management into higher education.
The collaboration will introduce two new titles: Journal of Responsible Management Education and Artificial Intelligence and Responsible Management.
The Journal of Responsible Management Education will provide a platform for advancing the global responsible management education (RME) research agenda. The journal will publish research and practice-based insights covering topics such as ethics, corporate social responsibility and sustainability education, education for sustainable development, responsible management education, and contributions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Artificial Intelligence and Responsible Management (AIRM) is a hybrid, peer-reviewed journal examining how artificial intelligence can be applied across business disciplines and industries to address responsible management challenges. The journal will focus on research grounded in principles including ethics, sustainability, accountability, inclusivity, stakeholder engagement and transformational leadership.
Tony Roche, Chief Officer, Publishing and Strategic Relationships at Emerald Publishing said: “PRME’s global leadership in responsible management education closely aligns with Emerald’s purpose and values. Together, we’re creating inclusive, high-quality publishing platforms that support rigorous scholarship while directly addressing the ethical, social and environmental challenges shaping business and society today.
“These new journals reflect our shared commitment to advancing responsible management education through research that is impactful, accessible and globally relevant. By removing barriers to access and inviting deep engagement from the PRME community and beyond, we aim to support scholars and educators in driving positive change and shaping the next generation of responsible leaders.”
Dr. David Steingard, Head of PRME, said: “Emerald’s strong commitment to human flourishing, environmental sustainability, and scholarly excellence aligns closely with PRME’s mission and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
“These journals will provide the global PRME scholarly community with new opportunities to publish in high-quality, rigorous, and credible outlets that are explicitly oriented toward societal impact. I anticipate that these journals will set a new benchmark for impactful scholarship, demonstrating how responsible management research can be both methodologically rigorous and directly relevant to advancing sustainability, responsible leadership, and positive global change.”
