Croatia libraries sign open access deal with Wiley

Wiley has announced a one-year open access agreement with the Croatian Academic and Research Libraries Consortium, which consists of 37 institutions.
The deal, effective immediately, represents Wiley’s first open access agreement in Croatia. It will provide scholars from participating institutions with reading access to Wiley’s journal portfolio and enables researchers to publish open access in Wiley’s full portfolio of nearly 2,000 hybrid and fully gold open access journals.
Alisa Martek, Library Advisor at the National and University Library in Zagreb said: “National and University Library in Zagreb supports open access as one of the most important pillars of the open science initiative. It recognises the importance for the Croatian academic and scientific community to publish and access research in open access, particularly in the most relevant journals, such as those published by Wiley”.
The OA agreement with Wiley is aimed at ensuring broader access to high-quality research and enhances the visibility and impact of Croatian scientific output globally. “We are committed to expanding open access publishing routes globally, and it’s a pleasure to embark upon this new partnership to support scholars in Croatia,” said Kathryn Sharples, Wiley VP, Publishing Strategy & Policy.
