Emerald and Purdue University launch impact series
Emerald Publishing and Purdue University have announced the launch of the Emerald-Purdue Research Impact Series, a new co-branded book programme designed to highlight pioneering scholarship with demonstrable real-world influence.
The series will showcase impactful research emerging from Purdue, one of the United States’ leading public universities. Each title will be authored by at least one Purdue faculty member, with many drawing on the institution’s most successful and influential recent doctoral research. Spanning multiple disciplines, the books will focus on evidence-driven impact that advances societal, industrial and global progress.
Aligned with both organisations’ shared mission to promote research that delivers meaningful change, the initiative seeks to move beyond traditional citation-based measures of success. Instead, it will spotlight scholarship that shapes policy, practice, behaviour and public understanding.
Emerald and Purdue have long advocated for transforming how research is evaluated and recognised. The new series aims to strengthen dissemination pathways while supporting improved recognition and measurement of research inputs and outcomes.
The Emerald-Purdue Research Impact Series will be guided by an editorial board representing senior leadership across Purdue’s academic and research strategy. Board members include Haley Oliver-Jischke, senior vice provost for academic and student success; Preeti Sivasankar, vice president for research innovation; Alfred J. López, associate dean and provost fellow for Purdue University Books Initiatives; and Cristina Farmus, vice president for special projects.
Purdue University, ranked among the top 10 public universities in the United States, enrols more than 106,000 students across multiple campuses, including more than 57,000 at its main locations in West Lafayette and Indianapolis.
