At the end of last year, to great fanfare, the Government of India announced the launch of its long-awaited One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) scheme – a $750m initiative aimed at increasing access to research for millions of scholars across the country.
In this webcast, featuring speakers with a deep knowledge of scholarly communications in India, we’ll be discussing what librarians, publishers and researchers need to know about the ground-breaking scheme – as well as the wider ramifications for the country’s scientific community and those in the rest of the Global South.

Anindita Bhadra is a Professor of Biology at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata, India. Her research focuses on the behavioural ecology of free-ranging dogs. She was the founding chairperson of INYAS, served as a Co-chair of the Global Young Academy, and serves on the editorial board of Frontiers Policy Labs.
