VTLS has announced that Version 48 of its Virtua product supports Oracle XE, Oracle's free starter edition of its database software. This move is said to allow VTLS to offer a new, low-cost ILS solution for smaller and budget-conscious libraries. Virtua users who begin with Oracle XE can upgrade as their needs grow and their budgets allow.
