ProQuest has launched the first product in its ProQuest One initiative, a series of solutions aimed at enabling libraries to serve broad, evolving learning and research mandates faster and more powerfully.

ProQuest One debuts with the launch of the ProQuest One Academic product: what the company claims to be 'the world’s most comprehensive interdisciplinary destination for research, teaching and learning'.  It says the resource unifies more than 250 years of curated content across journals, ebooks, video, dissertations, newspapers and more, covering 175 subjects.

The user experience of ProQuest One Academic is designed to support the unique needs of students and faculty. Users are told they will experience a more streamlined workflow, with simpler organisation of content that reduces the frustration and time spent of toggling between screens and tabs.

Content in ProQuest One Academic includes:

  • The spectrum of resources – scholarly journals, news, magazines and more – in the ProQuest Central database;
  • Every ebook in the Academic Complete collection;
  • Five million graduate works in the ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global database; and
  • Some 66,000 streaming videos included in the Academic Video Online collection

'We are laser-focused on developing solutions to improve research, teaching and learning outcomes for our customers,' said Rafael Sidi, general manager and senior vice president at ProQuest Information Solutions. 'ProQuest One Academic is a great example of our strategy to put customers at the center of everything we do and help them achieve their goals. It will resolve their pain points in the research process by delivering the most authoritative, varied and cross-disciplinary content they need, seamlessly in one platform, saving them valuable time.'
